Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of the Xi You Ji novel, is the first thing you see: a fierce monkey face under a gold phoenix-feather helmet, top left of the reels. The old page spent its only paragraph on "heroes and supernatural life" without once naming him.
Cast and props
The other pictures are a blue horned bull demon in armour, a dark-haired fairy with a gold crown and a white-haired one with a pink flower. The smaller symbols are things from the story: Wukong's golden headband, a green leaf-shaped fan, a red gourd and a bundle of bamboo scrolls. A red BONUS door appears on the reels too.
Bet is LINES 9, PLAY 10, TOTAL PLAY 90. Three headbands on line 8 paid 30, matching the table's 3 for three.
Game rules
The odds run Wukong 1000, bull demon 400, crowned fairy 200, flower fairy 160, fan 100, gourd 60, headband 40 and scrolls 20 for five. The ALL SAME row pays once when all five on a line are the same, from 5000 for Wukong down to 50 for scrolls. The monkey wild replaces everything but the bonus, and a small diagram shows two wilds on a row turning into one long wild between them.
