Golden Toad, the Joker123 fishing room

Fishing games are a genre of their own in Malaysian slot apps, and Golden Toad is Joker123's version. There are no reels. You sit at one of four cannons around a tank, fish swim across, and every shot costs the amount on your cannon. When a fish is caught, the pay table rule applies: win = bet x odds.

Who's in the tank

The pay table is laid out as a grid of fish with a number next to each. Small striped and spotted fish sit at 2, 3, 4 and 5. A clownfish is 6, a spiky pufferfish 8, and the turtle and a lantern fish are both 10. Further down come a stingray at 18, a manta ray at 25, a white hammerhead at 35 and a gold hammerhead at 40. The big ones are an orange fish at 80, a large golden fish at 100, a silver dragon at 150, a gold dragon at 200 and, at the end of the list, the green toad at 300.

The old page mentioned a "two-headed turtle with 250 odds". There's no 250 on this pay table. We went with the screen.

Six special catches

The bottom rows of the pay table list effects rather than fish:

• Chain Lightning catches up to 5 fish around the target at random.
• Full Catch takes every fish of the same kind on screen.
• Neptune Needle stuns everything for 10 seconds and adds a 50x bet reward.
• Quadruple Catch and Triple Catch take a whole group of 4 or 3.
• "Kill 'Em All" Dynamite blows up the screen, worth at least 100x the bet.

Buttons and seats

On the left side of the tank are two round buttons. Auto keeps firing for you. Lock On fires straight at the fish you pick. Change Bet, marked on the help screen with an arrow at the cannon, raises or lowers the cost of each shot. The seats say Waiting until somebody takes them.

In the screenshot above, small fish are paying 0.20 each while coins fly towards a seat. That's typical of the genre: a lot of small catches while your credit ticks down one shot at a time. Auto mode makes that happen faster.
