Queen of the Pyramids, an older Playtech 9-liner

Queen of the Pyramids comes from an older generation of Playtech slots, and it looks the part. The symbols are flat, cartoon-style drawings, the reels sit on plain cream panels, and the queen herself peers out from behind the logo at the top. The line markers down each side count 9 lines.

Symbols

The pay symbols are all Egyptian picture icons: an orange pyramid on a disc, a blue unicorn head, a green bird, a gold star, the Eye of Horus, a lotus flower, three fish, a sailing ship, a sphinx and the pharaoh's head. The old page names the pharaoh as the wild. It also says wins start with two matching symbols instead of the usual three, which is common in older Egyptian-style slots and means small hits come more often.

Bet buttons

The controls are the older type. There's a coin value box with minus and plus (RM0.75 in all three screenshots), then Pay-table, Bet One, Bet Max and Spin. Above them are Bet, Line Bet and Win. In these shots Bet and Line Bet both read RM0.75. The Pay-table button is the one to press first, since it shows what each symbol pays at your stake.

The progressive jackpot

A red ticker at the top of the screen scrolls "Progressive Jackpot" and an amount in ringgit. The old page tied the top prize to five pharaoh wilds on a line. Below the maximum bet, it said, five wilds pay a fixed prize. Only at the maximum bet do they win the progressive. That's a common rule in older jackpot slots, and it's worth knowing before you press Bet Max. The max-bet rule doesn't make the jackpot more likely. It only decides what you'd get if the five wilds did land.
