The Love Boat, a TV cruise turned into a slot
Based on the old TV series, The Love Boat has a ship for a wild, a match-making bonus, and a weekly prize draw that runs beside the reels.
The Love Boat ran on American TV from the late seventies, and Playtech built a slot on it with the cast on the reels. The characters are real actors' portraits, so in the screenshots we kept, the one face on screen has been blurred.
What's on the reels
The grid is five reels by four rows with 25 lines, numbered down both sides. The low symbols suit the theme: white hearts, life rings, pairs of champagne glasses and luggage tags with a heart on them. The cast portraits are the higher symbols. The wild is a red cruise ship with WILD printed under it. There's also a ship's telegraph dial marked Stop, Cruise and Bonus, and that's the one that matters.
The Matchup bonus
When a telegraph symbol lands on reel 1, a banner at the top reads "on reels 1+3+5 trigger the Matchup bonus". So you need one on each of those three reels. The old page described what happens next: you pick a man and a woman from the show's cast, and your prize depends on how well the pair matches, with a chance at a higher multiplier. Our screenshots stop at the trigger, so we can't confirm the details.
The Dream Cruise draw
The column on the right isn't part of the slot. It's a Dream Cruise Jackpot worth 10,000 euro, with a countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds, a draw date (Thursday 24 January 2019 in these shots), a count of your tickets and the last winning ticket number. The old page said a jackpot symbol on reel 5 earns tickets for the weekly draw. That was a 2019 promotion, so don't assume it still runs.
Bets
The panel has Info, Lines, Line Bet, Win, Total Bet, Auto Play, Turbo and Spin. Most shots were at RM0.05 a line on 25 lines, which is RM1.25 a spin. One shows RM1 a line, which makes RM25 a spin, and a message saying the balance was too low for that bet. At twenty times the price, that's easy to set by accident.
