Ji Xiang 8, nine squares and eight lines
Nine squares, eight lines and a golden statue watching from the side. Ji Xiang 8 is a small grid slot built around the lucky number 8.
Ji Xiang means auspicious, and the whole game is dressed for Chinese New Year. The grid sits under a red temple roof with lanterns hanging on both sides, and a golden God of Wealth statue sits on a heap of coins to the right of the reels.
A grid, not reels
Instead of five reels, Ji Xiang 8 has three columns and three rows. The eight lines are fixed: the three rows, the three columns and the two diagonals. Small numbered tabs from 1 to 8 around the edge show where each line begins, which helps when a win is drawn across the grid. Because the lines are fixed, the only thing you change is the line bet. At MYR0.01 a line the total is MYR0.08.
Nine squares of good luck
The screens show a gold dragon head, a blue coin with a koi on it, a gold ingot, a red paper lantern, a red lucky knot and the character 福 (fortune) in gold. The special symbol is a large gold 8 in a round frame. The old page calls it a scatter and says there's no wild. What the scatter triggers isn't shown in our screenshots.
Two small wins show up in the shots. Three 福 characters along the bottom row paid MYR0.28, and three red knots across the middle paid MYR0.18. Both at the minimum bet, so the pays are in sen, not ringgit.
