Chao Ji 888 and its dragon eights

The name means "super 888", and the game keeps the promise of simplicity. Chao Ji 888 is a three-reel machine with one symbol that pays: a golden 8 with a dragon's head curled around it. Everything else on screen is decoration, from the dragons flying across the top to the blue clouds behind the cabinet.

The pay table in one line

Right under the logo you can read the whole pay table: 8 x8, 88 x88, 888 x888. One dragon eight on the line pays 8 times the bet, two pay 88 times and three pay 888 times. The reels are tall, so each symbol takes up most of the window and you often see half of one 8 above the line and half of the next below it. Those halves don't count.

The last screenshot shows how the maths plays out at small stakes. The bet is RM0.05, reel 1 has a full dragon eight on the line, and the Win box reads RM0.4. That's the x8 pay. Two eights at the same bet would be RM4.40, and the top x888 would be RM44.40.

Buttons

There are only three: a minus and a plus under the Bet box, and a large green Spin button. The first screens were taken at RM0.01. There's no line setting, no gamble button and nothing that looks like a free-spin round. The old page mentioned Turbo and auto spin options, but they don't appear on the NTC33 screens we have.

A game this plain can feel harmless, but spins go by fast. A one-sen bet adds up over a few hundred spins.
